With the help of Premier Loto customers, we’ve raised over $30,000 to go towards aid for premature babies and their mothers in Cameroon.

A special jackpot draw was created by Premier Loto, Cameroon’s biggest sports betting and lotto retailer, where all sales were donated to Fondation Kangourou Cameroun.

In an astonishing turn of events, the sales figure reached 17,768,400F CFA ($32,462). This was in turn donated to the foundation during a ceremony on TV.

The NGO supports mothers of premature babies who are born under 2.5kg. They do this using the internationally recognised Kangaroo mother care method. The method of care is used on preterm infants. It involves babies being carried, usually by the mother, with skin-to-skin contact.

A spokesman for Premier Projects, the community department of Premier Loto said: “We want to thank every single Cameroonian who purchased a ticket for this jackpot draw. The amounted donated to Fondation Kangourou was very high and we have the customers to thank for this.

The NGO is doing vital work to support mothers in very testing times. As a company who takes pride in our communities, we could not be happier to donate and help out.”

Premier Projects has been active in their community duty in Cameroon for some time. Their actions have included PPE donations to health centres during the pandemic, as well as the recent opening of a sports complex in Douala.
